Australia’s Newest Continuous Particleboard Line

In 2016, Borg announced the most significant investment in Australian particleboard production for several decades—a new Siempelkamp continuous line to be built at Oberon. As of December 2018, the newest particleboard line was commissioned, producing substantial amounts of particleboard for joinery and flooring solutions.

The new production line represents an investment of over $110 million and creates job opportunities for the Oberon community. New size opportunities can now be explored due to the continuous nature of the line, with the pressed mat’s capability to be docked at lengths of 2700mm, 3150mm and 3600mm.

The latest addition enables Australian Panels to manufacture particleboard from managed plantation pine forests for the range of STRUCTAflor flooring, CUSTOMpine and selected polytec board products.
